How it works
1. Book Your Conchagua Overnight Camping Tour
Once you book, you'll automatically receive everything you need — someone from our team will reach out to you via email or WhatsApp and share tips on what to bring, what to wear as well as pick-up location and time.
2. Day of the tour
The tour guide will pick you up and give a brief explanation on what to expect on day 1.
Followed by a 4-hour drive - lunch break included- until you get to La Union City.
Once there, you will switch transportation and get on the "Bestia truck" which will drive you to the base camp.
At the base camp, the tour guide will provide the tents, sleeping bags and everything needed to experience the volcano as much as possible in an easy way.
3. Sunrise experience
Buenos días, it's time to enjoy the show!
The tour guide will wake you up around 5:00 am to get you ready for the show.
Take a moment to be present without the phone before the sun starts coming up.
It's a unique experience and we want you to be part of it.

- Camping Gear: All necessary camping gear is provided to ensure a comfortable overnight stay on the volcano.
- Headlight: Each participant receives a headlight for night-time visibility.
- Sleeping Bag: One sleeping bag per person to keep you warm during the night.
- Camping Bed: One camping bed per person for added comfort.
- Tents: Tents are provided, with options for 1 or 2 persons per tent.
- Transportation:
- Round-trip transportation from Surf City/San Salvador to Conchagua town.
- Round-trip 4×4 transportation from Conchagua town to the base camp on the volcano.
- Entrance Fees: All entrance fees are included.
- Meals: One dinner per person on the first day.
- Beach Access: Access to a private beach resort at Maculis Beach.
- Bilingual Tour Guide: A bilingual guide will accompany the tour, providing insights and ensuring a smooth experience.

Important note: The road from Conchagua town to the base camp is composed of loose cobblestones, making the journey quite bumpy and uneven.
Due to the rough terrain, we do not recommend this tour for individuals with back problems or pregnant women, as the ride may cause discomfort or pose a risk.

1. How difficult is the Conchagua Volcano camping tour?
The tour is considered easy to moderate. Most of the elevation gain is covered by a 4×4 vehicle, reducing the amount of hiking required. Participants should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain around the campsite and viewpoints.
2. What should I bring for the overnight camping experience?
We recommend bringing:
- Comfortable hiking or sports shoes
- Warm clothing for the evening and early morning
- Flashlight or headlamp

We provide quality camping equipment designed for outdoor use. In the event of severe weather that could affect safety, Tunco Life will contact guests with alternative options or rescheduling information.
