About Perquin, Morazan.
Let’s discover Perquín, part of the towns that make up the Ruta de La Paz; located in the north of Morazán, Perquín offers us a unique combination of history and natural beauty.
We can visit the “Museum of the Salvadoran Revolution” and later enjoy the mountainous beauty climbing the Cerro de Perquín to contemplate an impressive panoramic view.
La Poza de Final Adán is 20 minutes to the southwest walking down a street lined with pine trees. The pine forests to the north and east of the town are habitat for many species of birds and orchids.
Another place that we can enjoy near Perquín is the Sapo River Protected Area of the Arambala municipality, which offers pristine waters, a great variety of flora and fauna.
How to get to Perquin, Morazan?
Located just over 200 kilometers from San Salvador, and 1200 meters above sea level, Perquín is a small and cool town surrounded by pine groves and forests typical of the highlands.
The access is easy by road, it is in very good condition.
Take the Pan-American highway, in the direction of San Miguel and when arriving at San Miguel continue to the left, that is, do not go on the Roosevelt but in the direction of Santa Rosa de Lima, Jocoro, San Francisco Gotera.
Before reaching Jocoro there is the detour to San Francisco Gotera, then you pass San Francisco and take the detour that is quite well signposted, so you begin to go up and up passing through several towns and detours to other historical places until you reach Perquín.
