El ImposibleNational Park

el imposible national park el salvador

This Park is one of the most important areas in the country, it is a globally threatened ecosystem (Tropical Dry and Tropical Dry Premontane Forest), and one of the last refuges for an incredibly diverse community of wildlife.

Among the benefits of the Park is the regulation of climate, increased infiltration, production of water, reduction of runoff, soil protection and possession of scenic beauty for sustainable tourism development.

The Impossible is immersed in two climatic zones: warm earth (250 to 800 meters above sea level) and cooler earth (800 to 1425 meters above sea level).

What animals can we find at El Imposible National Park?

According to the Salvadorian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, in El Imposible National Park you can probably find the following endangered species: highland and dusky-legged guans, mantled hawks, collared peccaries, margays, tayras, cougars, and king vultures.

Aside from that, there are reports of over 500 species of butterflies, 279 bird species, 30 mammal species, and 53 species of amphibians and reptiles.
