Time to pack! The US withdraws travel alert about El Salvador | 2019
From October 1st, the American embassy in El Salvador indicated through its Twitter account @USEmbassySV that the level of alert class 2 is reduced to American citizens about El Salvador. This means that while certain normal safety precautions must be taken to travel through Latin America, the travel reconsideration request to this country is withdrawn.
El Salvador is changing, that’s what you can hear on the streets of San Salvador “the capital of one of the most dangerous countries in the world”.
This is probably what you had listened to or read online about El Salvador.
But things are changing for the smallest country in Central America, with a new president in charge who seems to be working 24/7 to change the country the results are visible, from so many murders per day in the last few months now El Salvador celebrates days where there are no murders in the entire country.
Something that seemed to be a dream for so many now is a reality, the average murder in September were 5 persons killed per day.
A number that definitely has to continue decreasing in the near future.
Not to mention president Nayib has been fighting corruption since day. Other ministers like tourism and culture are making big impact in their fields.
All these positive changes have led to putting El Salvador on everybody’s eyes around the world.
To the point, the US travel advisory changed its warning level for the American citizen who wants to visit El Salvador from level 3 to level 2 since October 1st.
This means El Salvador is on the same level as countries like Peru and the UK when it comes to travel security.
The big news was published through the US embassy in El Salvador twitter account.

El Salvador is safe for tourists, confirmed by the American ambassador himself
The US ambassador to El Salvador, Ronald Johnson, said in his official Twitter account @USAmbSV that El Salvador “has had positive changes in security and we will continue to support efforts in this area to protect both our citizens and to generate a better climate for Salvadorans. ” The thread opened by the American ambassador Ronald Johnson explains what the alert reduction consists of and that the country complies with security standards opens doors to tourism in El Salvador for tourists abroad who wish to visit the beautiful beaches and explore the Salvadoran landscapes .La gente me ha preguntado cómo se decide una alerta de viaje.
